Very nice snippets on Mets' minor leaguers.

I loved hearing Khalil Lee speak, who I was tough on while up with the Mets prematurely - it was more like, "this Lee/Maybin hitting hole in the line up just won't do." Give Lee the rest of the year in AAA and he may really be ready.

I think, when Carlos Cortes was discussed, the discussers have a pre-disposed bias to him being just 5'7", immediately characterizing him as a future back up. Comparing him to Guillorme, which is not a good comp, as Cortes is producing extra base hits at a very high pace.

I put no limits on his up side - he is raking on a team that is NOT raking - and do not suppose that his height is a significant limitation.

Lastly, I see Almora is almost ready to come back. Why? Physically, perhaps. But with the Cubs in 2020, and the Mets and AAA Syracuse in 2021, he is EIGHT FOR SIXTY FIVE! Which, without my calculator, is .122. Doubling that number is just .244. He has 5 walks in that span. FIVE. 4 RBIs. FOUR. And 6 runs scored. SIX. And, of the latter, perhaps one or more as a pinch runner.

So what exactly is wrong with McKinney and Williams until Conforto and Nimmo return? Both McK and Mason have hit plenty good this year - and the team is WINNING. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Williams is 26 for 77 this year, with 10 walks (MLB and AAA), in case you were wondering. McKinney? XBH machine.

To me, if it takes Almora until Sept 1 to learn to hit again in AAA, I'm cool with that. Yes, his D is helpful. But his bat is woeful. Dreadful.

I am with you Tom...leave Almora in AAA until he starts to hit.

I also disagree on comparing Cortes to Guillorme...two very different type of players. Two things about Cortes so far this year. He has always hit better with men on base and they have him leading off for some reason in Binghamton. Also, no where near the fielder that Guillorme is but his bat makes up for it.
