Breaking News: Mets sign Eduardo Escobar

According to multiple reports, the Mets have signed 11 year MLB Veteran Eduardo Escobar.  The deal is apparently for 2 years/$20 million.

Eduardo split 2021 with the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Milwaukee Brewers hitting 28 HRs, 90 RBIs, .253 Batting Average, .314 On Base Percentage, .472 Slugging and .786 OPS - most of the time as a #3 hitter.  In 2021 he played 99 games at 3B, 42 games at 2B, 1 game at SS, and 18 games at first.  This includes a .278 average with runners in scoring position.

He gives the Mets a good RBI bat that can play 3rd base.

Love the move. Two years.? Perfect length. Quality until Vientos and Mauricio and Baty are fully ready to rock.

2022 starting third baseman?

Nice addition to the team and I agree it’s a decent length contract…….at worst he is a very good bench piece.

“I couldn’t be more excited to have my boy Escobar with us,” tweeted Mets pitcher Taijuan Walker, who played alongside Escobar in 2019 with Arizona. “Hands down one of the best teammates I’ve ever had. Mets fans are going to love him!”
