11/23/21

Yesterday (11/22/21) in Winter Ball: 2 games in Venezuela plus Mauricio week in review

No Games yesterday in the Dominican League, Mexico or Puerto Rico.

In Venezuela:

Tigres de Aragua 6 Leones del Caracas 5 (Box Score)

Wilfredo Tovar, SS, 1 for 4, 1 walk, 1 K, - now hitting .363 with .937 OPS.

Navegantes del Magallanes 10 Bravos de Margarita 8 (Box Score)

David Rodriguez, DH, 0 for 3, 2 walks, 1 run scored - now hitting .275 with .796 OPS.

All the leagues are in action tonight.

Recapping last week for Ronny Mauricio, in 6 games he went 4 for 22 for a .182 batting average - overall he is hitting .270 with .718 OPS.

On the fielding side, he made no errors last week.

In 17 games at Shortstop in the Dominican this winter he has 9 errors.

We were asked to breakdown the errors.

Game one - fielding (bobbled a ground ball when taking ball out of glove to throw).

Game two - throwing.

Game five - 2 errors, one throwing, one fielding.

Game six - throwing.

Game seven - throwing.

Game nine - fielding.

Game thirteen - fielding.

Game fourteen - missed catch.

In total 5 errors on fielding/catching, 4 on throwing. A lot at first but better as the season went on and he gets adjusted to the fields and play this Winter.

FYI, the games from the Dominican Winter League are available on your MLB.TV subscription. Some Cell Phone companies offer free subscriptions as part of their service.

Nice Mauricio breakdown. I’d say he is ready OD 2023 at the earliest.
