If the Mets don’t add Metoyer, he will be taken. Oller the same as he’s already at AAA. Those two, Vientos and Mauricio are must adds to the 40 man. Maybe Walker since he is a lefty. Don’t think I’m missing someone.

Agree with Gus on all 5.

If eligible, I’d be surprised if Cortes is not added, even though he has not had a scintillating AFL season so far. His power disappearance is puzzling.

Either Hayden Senger or Nick Meyer as well. Both are good defensive catchers. Senger has more power. Nick Meyer was the top defensive catcher coming out of college last year. He caught a no-no in AA last year and pretty sure 2 almost no-nos in AAA ( gotta check to make sure he caught both of those AAA games). Baseball America listed Nick on the Mets top 30 prospect list last year for the first time bc his bat started to come around. He was one of the best position players I saw last year for the Mets nect to Khalil Lee. He is my pick to get plucked.

Also this year should be one of the best rule 5 drafts ever. I am sure all teams will struggle with who to protect - even on the minor league portion

John, you may be right on Senger and Meyer, but both are realistically a year away, to give them time to improve their bats.

I think Rule 5 could be unusually interesting this year, too.

Power outage in Arizona. Mets' hitters still have just 1 HR so far. The league's hitters have hit 159, which averages out to 5.3 per MLB team. And one guy has 7, and 11 hitters have 5 or more HRs. I know Senger and Reyes are not power guys, but I am surprised to see Cortes with just 2 doubles and a triple. They're all walking a good amount though, so maybe they are under instructions to swing at fewer balls and sacrificing power in the process.
