Mets cap their huge day by landing by far the best CF on the free agent market. Starling Martè flanked by Mark Canha and Brandon Nimmo is a very good defensive OF. In all the Mets spent $124.5M today (with Canha and Eduardo Escobar). Still working.

Starling Marte has been on the Mets' wish list for years. As things currently stand, he gives them an outfield of Brandon Nimmo, Marte and Mark Canha, likely marking the unofficial end of Michael Conforto's time in Flushing.

"I just think it's a really great addition, really fantastic three additions. The best part about it is, I get the feeling that the Mets aren't close to finished."

Nice trifecta. You get the sense the whirlwind will keep coming. Good. I like a new and improved team.
After all, we have to beat the Braves.
THAT escalated quickly!
Make McNeill your full time second baseman and the starting offense seems set…….so, no to Baez and Conforto, right?
I mean, they have to spend on pitching from here on out, I would think.
How about Suzuki in right so then it's Nimmo, Marte AND Suzuki for one hell of an outfield with lots of trading chips for pitching. Then add Baez to give us Pete, Javy, Lindor and Escobar around the infield with Alvarez in the wings behind the dish so now I'm getting excited. Remember the Bravos are a big hill to climb.
Gary - agree on Suzuki. Gives them much better outfield but don't discount Khalil Lee.
John, I hope Khalil Lee does well in 2022 He had a very solid 2021. But he still needs to prove he can do it in the big leagues. Some can, some can't.
