Whatever they do,don’t trade Mauricio!
Yes, keep Mauricio and bring back Jenrry Mejia. How old is he now?
I still fondly recall Mejia going right after Ryan Howard. On about the 10 pitch, Howard took him deep, but Mejia was fearless. Too bad he couldn’t avoid the PEDs.
Mejia is now a young 32
Last night, Mauticio made his 5th E in 6 games, leading to a loss. And Mejia came in to get Mauricio to pop up in the 9th.
I still want to see Mauricio getting OF reps this Winter.
I agree Bill, but Sandy doesn’t move shortstops “because their value goes down”. Check Amed Rosario…
Sorry, forgot to put my name in.
By the way Bill, I saw Mauricio go back on a pop up earlier this year like a pro and immediately thought of Lagares.
On the catcher position.
I am not opposed to cleaning house at the Mets dish. How many seasons must we endure limited hitting catcher duo? It feels like 20 seasons to me already. Just say NO!
Let's get past this, get more creative, and try a tandem of David Rodriquez and Francisco Alvarez. Why not. The Mets are getting very little offensive prowess from McCann, Nido, and Mazeika (Mack's wonderful favorito plebeian.) Blase.
The Mets have absolutely nothing to lose offensively and you can bet the defense will be there as well.
It's time for some serious creativity here, but is management up to task?
Mets rooks deserving a serious look in 2022.
1. Mark Vientos 3B
2. Khalil Lee (RF or CF) Forget MC.
3. Francisco Alvarez (May be rushed a little bit but McCann, Mazeika, and Nido again here for '22 doesn't excite me 2much. Sorry. It's just so darn difficult to go from Carter and Piazza years to (well) whatever this is.
5. Adam Oller (SP) May have right stuff now. Worth a look.
6. Yomomma (SP/RP) (Cannot remember how to spell his actual last name. But he has a shot here too in '22 if healthy.)
7. Josh Walker (lefty SP or RP) A lefty Noah sized.
8. Corey Oswalt (SP) Just never could understand why he hasn't stuck here yet and what's missing with his game. Can no one here refine the man? Seriously, so he can pitch at Citi? Jeremy you listening. We don't re-sign him and we have another Flexen dude.
Forgot No.4
My bad
Ronnie Mauricio. Green hair has SS blocked. But Mauricio could still find a position home here. What about in the running with Lee, Mangum for RF? Ronnie could be a factor here soon.
