We are getting close to the declaration of which Mets will be offered a qualified offer (QO).
I am really interested about what you would do here.

I would QO Conforto. Noah, I would give him a reasonable offer but not a QO. What pitcher in this world that hasn't pitched for two years gets a contract offer for 18.6 million. None. Ever. Not even Koufax. Smaller contract with invcentives.

I would offer it to both Noah and Conforto. Noah will accept and conforto won’t. If Noah doesn’t come back well from his TJ surgery and misses a lot of time again next year insurance may kick in and recoup some of the money.
If Noah will only stay for the QO and not less, and they reasonably feel he will be OK, I'd do it. Take Conforto's QO and draft someone when he turns it down. Boras and Mike will find a more willing buyer elsewhere - I wonder if that might be the Yanks, given that their aging CF seems done and they'll need to replace him.
Due to surgery and Covid, Noah has not gotten 1. A full salary or 2. a raise in two years. He would appreciate the QO and will earn it easily if he’s healthy and the Mets should know that. Conforto should accept it, and I hope he does. He is a good player, but coming off a bad year and maybe draft pick compensation will keep his market minimized.
I would definitely extend the QO to Conforto. Worst case scenario he accepts and we have him one more year ( We could do a lot worse. I am not so sure with Noah though. I am not convinced that he will return to form. I would offer a lesser base salary with easily attainable goals that if achieved would bring the total to the QO. I agree with JD on this point.
Sorry Gus, I respectfully disagree with you on this point. I believe Noah has been paid his full salary the past 2 years. I know 2021 salary was prorated, but so was everyone else's.
That being said, I still want him back. Heck, it's only Uncle Stevies money...not mine.

By not giving Noah the QO he could go to another team and the Mets get nothing for him. No draft pick. I would give Conforto a QO and expect him to leave and the Mets get a draft pick.
I feel Noah will come back from the surgery it is just a matter of time. I feel he is a very determined player and will do whatever is necessary to succeed. I guess Mets fans forget what problems Wheeler had coming back and look at him now. We give up to quickly on young pitchers and other teams succeed with them.
We need good player development that can take a pitcher who is doing well in AAA and find a way for him to succeed with the Mets.
QO to Conforto in the hopes he does not take it.
The point on Syndergaard not pitching for about 2 years is valid. I would offer him a contract now before the deadline If he takes it, great. If not, with the thin pitching market you might have to go with the QO to him.
I'd love to retain Aaron Loup but he's not worth $18.6 million.
Hey we paid Betances and Lowrie for nothing so Noah is worth taking a chance and QO Conforto and We HAVE TO RESIGN LOUP.
Noah, if he pitches, id worth QO. If he lesbrs gsin a pick. Fitst make offer maybe with option on 2nd year. He's been worth what he's been giben in career. Good chancr hr does well in future. Big error if it's with other team.

The pick is more glamorous than it sounds. Firstly, I thought they are second rounders, but even if the compensation is a first rounder, previous compensation picks are Kevin Plawecki and Anthony Kay, hardly players to chase after. In fact, if I had a choice between one good year of Conforto or either one of those guys, give me Scooter.
