METS EXTEND QUALIFYING OFFER TO
OUTFIELDER MICHAEL CONFORTO & RHP NOAH SYNDERGAARD
FLUSHING, N.Y., November 6, 2021 – The New York Mets today announced they have extended a qualifying offer to outfielder Michael Conforto and RHP Noah Syndergaard.
Conforto, 28, has hit .255 with 141 doubles, 132 homers and 396 RBI over seven seasons with the Mets.
Syndergaard, 29, is 47-31 with a 3.32 ERA (265 earned runs/718.0 innings) in 121 games, 120 starts during six seasons with New York.

I hope they both take it, and both should for different reasons.
Conforto is a guy who over his career has had almost exactly equal home and road slash lines. That included 2021, except his slug % was almost 50 points lower at home. That's all OK, I guess, but he is reaping no home field HERE.
I still wonder if he might go to Yankee Stadium where he'd no doubt hit better at home than on the road.
On Thor, my guess is if they'd offer $19 million that have to feel reasonably good he will bounce back solidly. $19 million is a lot of cabbage. If I was Thor, I'd take it - unless I felt my health would not last thru 2022.
I agree with Gus - i hope they both take it, but I'm not sure the reasons they would are all that much different.
Didn't Conforto already say he won't accept the QO. What teams would be willing to give Conforto 25+ M for a long term deal AND give the Mets a high draft choice after the poor season he had in his walk year?
Conforto should sign with a club like the Yanks or Reds where he'll hit 40 HR's to reinforce Tom's theory about our outfield wall distance: BRING EM IN!.
I think Conforto would be very good fit for the Yankees but they already have Stanton and Judge - so could see them passing him up.

I didn't see him flying out to the warning track...I don't think
the fences had anything to do with his poor season.
I think it was all a head game with him.
He used to drive outside pitches for xtra bases and HRs.
He decided he want to be a pull hitter this season and failed.
