The Mets 11th round pick, USC OF Rylan Thomas led the Trojans in hitting (,363).
Very little power (2-HR) but very little strikouts too (17 in 223-AB)
4 yr. Junior
The Mets 12th round pick, 6-10 LHP Paul Gervace, out of LSU, came strickly out of the pen.

The Mets 13th round pick, 6-5 RHP Dylan Ross became the Sunday starter for Georgia after other starters went down.

Figure it's always a good idea to pound the draft taking arms like they did.
In my opinion a little late in this draft.
Dylan Ross could turn out to be a great starter.
It also looks like they are trying to build a great basketball team too.
Mack, I think you missed Draft Pick # 10 - or you didn't and I missed it.
If Alvarez is as good as traded, then huge things are coming.
I think that is a darned good Top 10
Apparently 15th rounder Jackson Jaha is the son of former MLB player John Jaha. Maybe an over slot HS pick?
I heard the podcast by Joel Sherman and Jon Heyman last night, with their guest Scott Boras. Boras can sell cow manure to ranchers. He brings up nothing but positives as if each player he represents doesn’t have negatives and keeps talking up his dealings and his clients.
His points:
-Mike Rizzo will not be able to get enough to trade Soto. Too, if anyone gets Soto, they control him for three post seasons.
-Soto is more decorated than Bryce Harper so signing Soto will be about bringing value, and that needs to be paid accordingly.
-The Nats are trying to sell their team, and it is worth more with Soto on it.
On the draft picks, not happy with the reliever straits the Mets saw and wouldn’t stray from on Day 3, but they have earned trust and patience to get a chance, although not taking a backup plan to Rocker last year will forever be on their history. The Mets basically traded Rocker for Paneda. They won that trade.
Ya know
I'm just not a big fan of what the Mets did here.
They got their stud bat when there only was so many to pick from.
I love Tidwell and think Ross has huge upside but the Mets weakest chain position is starters and they should have loaded up on 2 or 3 more.
I will elaborate tomorrow
Dylan Tebrake is a good pick also
Chazz
I don't much about him
Tell us.more
Any clue why they didn't go with Hubbart with pick 90?
No.
All my contacts are gone
I think you are too quick to displace Baty, Vientos, Zeigler, Allen with a couple of high draft picks. Yes they are touted, but they have to prove their worth against much better talent than they have seen.
I've watched so many top prospects go bust.
Boras will never let Soto sign an extension. He will get his proven future HOF client a 50+mil AAV 10+ year for him at a him after 3 more playoffs available now in a trade.
And.
The dude will still be only 34 after that.
The Mets need to quietly fly to Washington DC and sit down and try and hash out a decent but not crazy for these 3 playoffs/2 seasons.
i keep flip-flopping on Soto. Man, it would be nice to have a talent like that for his 24-33 year old years. But Man, it would be expensive and perhaps tie up the resources to really build a winner.
But I agree with Mack. .at least find out what it would take (although they may have already done that and it will never become public knowledge).
Mets or Yanks for Soto, I bet. It would be nice to beat the Yanks at their own game.
Concentrate on a deal for his existing contract
Then QO HIM
I don't think there's in a QO anymore under the new labor agreement. Yesterday I was commenting that we shouln't trade for Soto. Today... I'm more open to the idea. You can move Canah to DH.
It would be insane if we can trade for Contreras as well...
