Christian Scott and Brett Baty to AAA

 My spin?

I want Baty to get regular reps and it is obvious Vientos has won third if Alonso is well

As for Scott, I hate this but he too needs to stay on 5 day plan and that won't happen with the London trip coming up + 6 starters on the 26

I hate this but seems like a necessity evil

Lots of good subtle moves today

Iglesias should play Queens

So should Dedniel

Omar never happened

Gotta like it. Scott won't be gone long. If Scott is demoted, then Vasil should be demoted to AA? It seems to have worked for Justin Jarvis.

I agree on Vasil. He's lost at AAA

I don't think Scott is demoted - he has pitched too well in the majors. It is most likely as Mack said, for keeping on a regular schedule.

I don't see how Vientos wins the 3B job. He has been pretty bad in the field there. His hitting says he must find a role, but not where the error rate will impact the team. This team cannot afford any more mistakes.

And speaking of mistakes, the Narvaez DFA fixes one. I can't believe he was an all-star at one point. Both offense and defense were below par.

Appears that with the trip to London, they don’t need as many starters right now. Plus, Scott threw 87 innings last year and this year he is already over 50. In As for Baty, he needs to make some kind of adjustment offensively. He obviously has all the tools, but not seeing it right or missing the point of contact? Maybe an eyesight issue? Something subtle that he may not even realize? I like Inglesias coming up as he is another veteran who knows his role and will appreciate it after not playing MLB last year at all. Hopefully, he can help Vientos.

The eyeglass thing could work as Lindor is wearing them sometimes but what I don't get is why this took so long to find out? How many millions are spent on coaches and coordinators trainers and medical staff and they all missed this shame on them.

I understand the Narvaez DFA, and 100% agree with it, but I'm lost trying to get the timing. Alvy has started his rehab, and should be back in a week or two, barring setbacks.

Nido has definitely proved better than Omar, but we need 2 catchers. Why not wait for Alvy before jettisoning Omar? I guess the new guy we picked up today will be Nido's backup, but by the time he's "broken in" he'll be upstate.

Bill,
Could there be a possible trade with Omar going to another trade via the DFA?

D J said...

Should say"another team". Sorry.

Of course there could. That's one of the choices in a DFA. But I just don't get the timing. Why break in a new kid now instead of keeping Omar until Alvy returns?
