The Buffalo Bisons, Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets, today announced that OF Angel Pagan has joined the team on a Major League rehabilitation.
Pagan, 27, had surgery to remove a bone spur in his right elbow on March 11. He did play five spring games with the Mets (.467, 7-15, 2RBI) before being placed on the disabled list by New York on April 5 (retroactive to March 27).
Pagan was acquired in a trade with the Chicago Cubs for two minor leaguers on January 5, 2008. He hit .275 (25-91) with seven doubles and 13RBI in 31 games with the Mets last season.
He is a career .280 hitter with 18 home runs and 218RBI in 633 minor league games heading into the 2009 season.
