Minors Stuff

The Herd:
The Buffalo Bisons found another way to lose a game Sunday.
With the bases loaded in the 11th inning, Herd reliever Eddie Kunz walked in the winning run in a 3-2 loss before 8,428 at McCoy Stadium.
The game was scoreless through 10 innings.
Buffalo took a 2-0 lead in its half of the 11th on a two-run home run by Argenis Reyes with Cory Sullivan aboard. It was just Reyes’ 10th homer in 786 career minor league at-bats.
But the Bisons (9-26) couldn’t hold the lead as Pawtucket rallied for three runs in the bottom of the inning.
The first four PawSox batters to face Kunz reached safely. Paul McAnulty led off with a double. Travis Denker followed with a single. Angel Chavez singled to drive home McAnulty, making it 2-1. Sandy Madera pinch hit for catcher John Otness and singled.
With the bases loaded, Iggy Suarez struck out. Freddy Guzman then singled to the left side to score Denker and tie the game, 2-2. That brought up former Bison Jonathan Van Every, who walked on four pitches. Van Every is batting .179.
“In that situation — to pitch at this level or to pitch at the next level—you’ve got to be able to come in and get the job done,” said Bisons manager Ken Oberkfell. “[Kunz] came in and pitched behind. It almost looked to me like he was pitching afraid to go after hitters and he got behind in the count.”

B-Mets:
Josh Thole crossed home plate with both arms raised over his head and ran smack into a celebratory tackle from teammate Shawn Bowman.
Lucas Duda was also swarmed by his Binghamton Mets teammates after his eighth-inning RBI single completed a come-from-behind 4-3 victory and a doubleheader sweep of the Trenton Thunder on Sunday afternoon at NYSEG Stadium.
It was an exuberant celebration, especially for mid-May. But it's one the B-Mets earned with a pair of come-from-behind victories. The B-Mets won the opener, 2-1, behind a strong combined pitching outing by Ryan Coultas and Julio De La Cruz.
"It was a long day," said Duda, who singled off Trenton reliever Josh Schmidt to win the second game. "It's always tough to sweep a doubleheader. It's great to get these wins as we prepare for this road trip to Connecticut. Hopefully, this will get us going."
After dropping five of six games on the road last week, the B-Mets (17-18) won three of four against Trenton (16-18) in the weekend series. That gives the team a jolt of momentum heading into this week's three game series at Connecticut, where manager Mako Oliveras said the team will probably be met by former big leaguer and Eastern League all-star Nick Evans
