Cutnpaste: - Foley on Emaus, Popper on Jose, F-Mart Update, BP on Beato, and Sickles on Beato

Foley on Emaus:

Brad Emaus- picked by the New York Mets after spending parts of four years in the Toronto Blue Jays system. This past season saw him start the season in AA New Hampshire before being promoted to AAA Las Vegas where he played in 87 games while hitting .298 with 10 homers and 49 RBI. The Blue Jays selected him in the 11th round (355th overall) in the 2006 MLB Draft out of Tulane University. He had an outstanding three year career with the Green Wave hitting .329 with five homers and 35 RBI as a junior. - collegebaseballdaily.

 Popper on Jose:

As we detail in today’s Record, the Mets may find this crazed marketplace putting them in a very uncomfortable spot. The Mets may have to decide next winter whether to join in the frenzy and toss out their established principles and plans or let Jose Reyes walk. The Mets under Sandy Alderson are philosophically opposed to handing out seven-year, massive deals to players in their late 20’s - which pretty much describes where Reyes could be next winter. So do the Mets let Reyes leave if someone else decides he’s worth a package similar to the ones that Carl Crawford and Jayson Werth signed this week? - north jersey

F-Mart Update:
Fernando Martinez took part batting practice Thursday afternoon with the Escogido Lions of the Dominican winter league and pronounced himself in good health, although he is still weeks away from running. - espn

BP on Beato:
•Mets: Pedro Beato, RHP (from Orioles): Five years later, the Mets finally get their man after failing to sign him out of the 2005 draft; stuff is still well below draft-level, but he found some consistency and success this year as a two-pitch reliever. -

Sickles on Beato:

Mets: Pedro Beato, RHP, from Orioles: 24 years old, former hot prospect had a good season after converting to relief, 2.11 ERA with 50/19 K/BB in 60 innings in Double-A, 16 saves. I can see him sticking in the Mets pen. - minorleagueball.
