Mack Draft: - Alex Dickerson, Tyler Marlette, Colton Moore, Michael Suiter, and Austin Haney

A prep star in California, (Alex) Dickerson has been hitting since arriving in Bloomington in 2009. A freshman on a deep Indiana team that included 2009 first rounder Eric Arnett (MIL) and supplemental first rounders Josh Phegley (CHW) and Matt Bashore (MIN), it was clear that Dickerson was the most feared Hoosiers hitter by season's end earning an All Big 10 Tournament Team selection while leading Indiana to the NCAA tournament. Dickerson earned Conference Freshman of the Year honors and was named Second Team All Conference as a DH. As a sophomore in 2010, Dickerson was a Baseball America 3rd Team All American and won the conference triple crown (.419 AVE - 24HR - 75RBI). In the summer he played in the Cape Cod League where he put up a .500/.553/.706 line in a 9 game stay.

Tyler Marlette - Tyler Marlette won the MVP at the Aflac All-American game at Petco Park this past summer. He won it because of the HR he hit to Left-Center off Ricky Jacquez. Power is Marlette's main asset. He takes a viscous swing from the right side when he connects it flies. He has great bat speed and generates plus power. He has issues with good off speed pitches but punishes them when he connects. He is a 5'11" and about 195 LBS so there is minimal projection left to do. - http://www.mlbbonusbaby.com/

Rising sophomore Colton Moore is the only returning Bred who logged any time at first base in 2010. Moore played the last two innings of Murray St.’s May 28 Ohio Valley Conference tournament win over Eastern Illinois at first base. Moore started 19 games at third base and 24 at designated hitter so he could make the switch to first base in 2011 if he can handle the position defensively full-time. Redshirt freshman infielder Jordan Queen figures to earn some playing time in the infield and had a RBI singled during the fall World Series - http://blugrassbaseball.com/

Michael Suiter: - OF - Punahou School, Honolulu, Hawaii - Suiter put-up one of the more impressive SPARQ performances of the event, finishing third overall while showing plus speed in the 30/60 yard dash, a 31-inch vertical and good strength in the Power Ball throw. Suiter has the arm strength for right field and enough footspeed to potentially hold down center. While his routes need some work, he projects as an above-average defender at both center and right. He needs a fair amount of work at the plate, but his bar for offensive production should be lower if he can provide value up-the-middle on the defensive side. http://diamondscapescouting.com/articles_2010acg_wraps_part1_11162010.html

Returning candidates: Lee started 47 of Morehead St.’s 50 games at shortstop in 2010 with the other three starts going to rising sophomore Austin Haney. Haney was just 2-22 (.091) in 15 games for the Eagles last season but is the only shortstop listed on Morehead St.’s 2011 roster. Rising senior utility man Casey Branham recorded one start at second base in 2010, but could conceivably move over to shortstop if head coach Jay Sorg is confident in his defense. Branham slugged two home runs in game three of the Eagles’ fall blood bowl series - http://blugrassbaseball.com/
