MML Player of the Day - Sept. 9: Savannah SP Seth Lugo
Savannah tops Hagerstown 6-2 to even series at a game apiece.
Starter Seth Lugo (W, 1-0) tosses 6.0 scoreless innings: 5 H, BB, 7 K.
Julian Hilario pitched a perfect 7th inning and Beck Wheeler pitched a perfect 9th. Sandwiched in between, however, the usually “lights out” reliever Paul Sewald (1.77 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, 10.77 K/9, 1.12 BB/9) allowed 2 R on 3 H with 1 K in the 8th.
Jeff Glenn had a great day: 3-4, 2 2B, 3 RBI.
Cole Frenzel: 2-4, 2B, BB, RBI, 2 R.
