September 19th - Giants 2, Mets 1
Thursday afternoon in a battle of South paws in Flushing, Madion Bumgarner out dueled Jon Niese as the Giants nip the Mets 2-1 and win two out of three in their mid week series. All the scoring happened in the 4th inning. In the top of the inning the Giants scored a pair of runs off Niese courtesy of an rbi single by Juan Perez and a fielders choice by Ehire Adrianza. In the bottom of the inning the Met s cut the lead in half on a Daniel Murphy rbi single that scored last nights hero Josh Satin. The hitting star was Perez who went 3 for 3 with the rbi, Tony Abreu also added a pair of hits. Niese went 7, he allowed 7 hits, 2 runs (both earned) he walked 2 and struck out 4. He’s the hard luck loser falling to 7-8 on the season. Bumgarner earns his 13th win going 7 and striking out 10 allowing the Mets to scatter just 4 hits on the day. With the loss the Mets fall to 68-84 overall and 32-45 at home. Friday night the Mets start their last roadtrip of the year in Philly. The resurgent Daisuke Matsuzaka (1-3 6.12) goes for the Mets.Cole Hamels (8-13 3.48) goes for the Phillies. https://www.facebook.com/MetsForum
