September 26th - Brewers 4, Mets 2

David WRight 926Thursday night in Flushing the Mets opened their last series of the 2013 season and the Brewers behind a couple of bloop hits got the better of Dillon Gee and the Mets winning 4-2. The Brewers scored all their runs in the top of the 2nd .  Juan Francisco brought home the first run on an infield hit. Jeff Bianchi blooped a rbi single to make it 2-0, and Scooter Gennet then singled in Franciso and Bianchi to cap the rally. Johnny Hellweg started for the Brewers and only lasted 4 innings. He only gave up one run, that was an rbi grounder by Daniel Murphy scoring Eric Young Jr. in the 3rd inning. While Hellweg only tossed 80 pitches..later in the 3rd he beaned David Wright in the head and Lucas Duda in the leg  back to back. Wright left the game…but concussion tests were negative, he should be good to go on Friday. The Brewers bullpen kept the Mets at bay until the bottom of the 9th when Josh Satin hit a  pinch solo homer, his 3rd, and that capped the scoring. Gee took the loss. He went 6 innings allowed 7 hits 4 runs (all earned) he walked 2 and struck out 2.  He finishes  2013 12-11 with a 3.62 era. Alfred Figaro gets his 3rd win in relief for the Brewers. The Mets now stand at 73-86 on the season.  Friday it’s game two of the series. Carlos Torres (4-5  3.36) goes for the Mets Yovani Gallardo (11-10  4.23) goes for Milwaukee. https://www.facebook.com/MetsForum
