September 12th - Nats 7, Mets 2
Thursday afternoon in Flushing, The Nats power show continued as they crashed 4 more homers as rookie Tanner Roark easy held the Mets at bay, as the Nationals win 7-2 and sweep their 4 game series. Aaron Harang made his first start as a Met and he didn’t look half bad…allowing 3 runs on 6 hits through 6 innings while striking out 10. Unfortunately 3 of those six hits were solo homers by Ryan Zimmerman, Adam LaRoche and Wilson Ramos. After 5 it was a close game with Washington leading 3-2. But, while the Nationals bullpen held the Mets scoreless, the Met bullpen gave up 4 runs on 4 hits in the last 3 innings as the Nats pulled away. Anthony Rendon hit the last homer of the series for the Nats in the ninth inning. The Mets scored their runs with single runs in the 1st and 4th innings. Daniel Murphy came through with an rbi double in the 1st, Anthony Recker with an rbi single in the 4th. Both teams tallied 8 hits apiece, the Nats got the 4 dingers. The Mets were led by Eric Young Jr and Recker with 2 hits apiece. Harang falls to 0-1. Roark improves to a perfect 6-0. Friday night the Miami Marlins come to town. Jon Niese (6-7 3.86) looks to get the Mets back in the left column ..he faces the Brad Hand (0-0 0.00) https://www.facebook.com/MetsForum
