I saw the game got called last night with them winning and said "shit, this f-ing mets"!

My wife said, "what, they lose again?"

And I said, "no, the friggin' won"

At that point she just shook her head, confused, and went back to reading her book.

It is weird, but only this team would be able to start a winning streak and completely screw up their draft position. It takes a special idiot to be one of their fans. And they always do exactly what you don't want them to.

Figures with this team, even when they win, they lose......

Perfect tag line for 2013 Phil.

Regardless of protected picks, I don't see Alderson being able to simply forego free agency. What it does do is probably limit the Mets to one big free agent sign.

If they had their first rounder protected, I could see them signing two big free agents, figuring as long as they had it, losing the second and third round picks would be for the greater good. But if it's not protected, I can't see them signing two and losing both their first and second rounders(along with the slot money). That would kill their entire draft, most likely anyway.

I hope they get swept by the Reds and then loose the Brewers series...

if what we're missing out on is Choo, then let them keep winning.

Yeah, why would the Mets want a guy who leads off, gets in base 40% of the time, and will add a lot of offense to them? I've heard the argument that he won't be as good playing in Citifield. That's true, but he twice the player Eric Young is and will be hue for the Mets having him as their lead off man.

I'd rather they sign Pence, but the status quo isn't working.

1B Duda/Davis/Satin
2B Young
SS Anybody's guess
3B Wright
LF Anybody's guess
CF Lagares
RF Anybody's guess
C d'Arnaud

Gone -- Murphy and Flores -- arguably the only two offensive chips they have to deal to fill other holes.

the question is why are we all surprised by this?
