Draft 14 – Alex Jackson, Bradley Zimmer, Charlie White, Max Pentecost, Stuart Fairchild

2-3-14 – MaxPreps - Top 10 MLB Draft Prospects in high school - 1. Alex Jackson, Rancho Bernardo (San Diego) Probably the most consistent prospect on the list, Jackson has routinely been among the top three high school players in every mock draft. He could be the top position player chosen in the draft, although there's no guarantee that he will remain at catcher. Jackson's raw power includes 36 home runs at the high school level over three seasons. http://www.maxpreps.com/news/B41AzcsA90iOL5xwFL8T7Q/top-10-major-league-baseball-draft-high-school-prospects.htm

6'-5" LHH Bradley Zimmer now at .419/.471/.710 w/ 5 2B, 6 HR, 11 SB over 22 G. He's gonna end up going top-10, maybe 4th ...

3-6-14 – Nats GM -   Charlie White CF University of Maryland -  An intriguing prospect playing his college baseball near Nationals Park, White serves as Maryland’s leadoff hitter and center fielder for the second consecutive year in 2014.  A left-handed batter with excellent contact skills and a knack for reaching base, White lacks home run power which limits his upside professionally.  Defensively, White utilizes his blazing speed, solid baseball instincts, and average arm to be a dynamic center fielder.   Without much physical projection remaining, White will need to maximize his impressive speed, hit, and defensive tools to overcome his lack of power in his attempt to climb through the minor leagues. A redshirt junior, White was drafted in the 29th round last year by the Yankees, but should see a jump up draft boards this coming June.  White could be a nice Day 2 selection, especially for a somewhat budget conscious organization. http://natsgm.com/2014/03/06/scouting-the-2014-mlb-draft-early-march-edition/

3-5-14 – TTF - 10 college players on the rise — week 3  - Max Pentecost, C, Kennesaw State (13) - On Sunday against Jacksonville State, Pentecost showed what a special talent he is and how many ways he can impact a game. He went 0-for-4 but drew two walks, was hit by a pitch twice and added a sacrifice fly in a 17-inning marathon that Jacksonville State won 9-8. He also caught the whole game. Over 14 games, he is hitting .339/.414/.475 with five doubles and a home run. The power still hasn’t shown up as some expected, but he is showing an advanced approach at the plate, athleticism and the defensive abilities to stick behind the plate. A likely first-round pick and rising. http://throughthefencebaseball.com/2014-mlb-draft-week-3/41478#ilZqhEaASo2Kkjik.99

OF - Stuart Fairchild, Sr., Seattle Prep (Wash.) - The best power hitter in the region, Fairchild has continued to progress and his power has developed well since his junior season. Expect a big year from the speedy outfielder with the popeye sized forearms, as he has become one of the most offensively advanced players in the region.  http://www.perfectgame.org/Articles/View.aspx?article=9561
