4-16-15 - Minor League Recap

A whole lotta hitting goin' on at the Mets' 4 minor league active affiliates.  38 runs in 4 contests, all wins, by a total margin of 22 runs.  VERY NICE.

Minor League Player of The Night -

T J RIVERA, who with 4 hits and a walk is now at .500. He is a veritable hit machine, and is forcing his way into consideration. If you don't know T J, check out his career stats. You'll come away impressed. 172 hits and .358 since the beginning of 2014.

Honorable Mention -
The other hitters. Way to many to mention. Read on and see for yourself, folks.

AAA - Las Vegas - (4-4)   7  -  Sacramento (5-3)  4

    LHSP Darin Gorski - 5 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 1BB, 3 K, 1.80

    RHRP Hansel Robles 1.2 IP, 1 H, 4 K, 0.00

    3B Danny Muno - 0-2, .211, CALLED UP

    SS Matt Reynolds -  2-4, 2R, 3 RUN HR, .226

    2B Dilson Herrera - 2-4, R, .269

    RF Alex Castellanos - 2-4, 2R, HR, 2 RBI, .346

    CF Darrell Ceciliani - 2-4, 2 R, 2B, .294

Gorski improves to 2-0 with a solid outing. Reynolds' 3 run shot turned a 2-1 deficit into a 4-2 lead. Alex Castellanos continued his strong start with a late 2 run shot to cap the 51's scoring.  Lots of 2 for 4's, and encouraging to see Reynolds and Herrera now HOT.

POLITICAL SIDEBAR:
President Obama describes the 51s as "the Mets' LV team."

AA - Binghamton (5-3) 9  - Harrisburg (3-5) 3

    RHSP Rainy Lara -  5.0-IP, 6-H, 3-R, 2-K, 2-BB, 2.31

    1B Josh Rodriguez -   2-5, 1-R, 1-HR (1), .211

    2B T.J. Rivera -  4-4, 3-R, double, 3-RBI, .500

    3B Dustin Lawley -  2-5, 3-RBI, .318

Blow out, led by hitting wunderkind T J Rivera, and Dustin Lawley is hot and knocking the boys in.  Boyd heating up too.

Always a rainy night when Lara pitches, as the Rain Man secures the win in a lopsided victory.

A+ - St. Lucie - (5-3) 14  -  Brevard County (3-4) 6

    RHSP Kevin McGowan -  3.2-IP, 7-H, 2-ER, 4-K, 3-BB, 1.80

    1B Dominic Smith -  3-5, 1-R, 3-RBI, .188

    C Colton Plaia -  3-5, 1-R, 2-doubles, 1-RBI, .450

    RP Jake Kuebler - 2.1-IP, 0-R, 2-K, 1-BB, 0.00

Destruction rained from St Lucie Mets bats, as they pounded away for 14 runs and 18 hits. Dominic Smith silenced all the worry warts for a night (me included) with a breakout 3-5 night with 3 rib eyes.    Champ Stuart on 3 more times with 2 more steals...now on base an astounding 20 times in 8 games, and 7 steals already.  Whoosh!

A - Savannah - (3-4) 8 - Charleston (4-4) 3

    RHSP Corey Oswalt - 5.0-IP, 7-H, 3-R, 5-K, 2-BB, 4.22

    1B Stefan Sabol -  1-3, 1-R, 1-HR (2), 2-RBI, ,313

    3B Pedro Perez -  2-4, 1-R,  1-HR (1), 1-RBI, .182

    RF Wuilmer Becerra  - 2-4, 1-R, 1-HR (2), 2-RBI, .269

Good to see life in Gnats' bats. Someone asked how Becerra is doing yesterday.  Are you satisfied with Becerra's answer?  He spoke loudly with 2 hits and a 2 run blast.

Ozzie Oswalt tossed a solid outing for the win.

Smashing Mets minors night.  Certainly not the last one.

Looking forward to being at the Binghamton Mets game tomorrow.

Luis Cessa is the scheduled starter. I plan on taking lots of photos and 3 or 4 videos. Hoping to get an opportunity to meet 2 or 3 players as well.

Great, Chris....super scout. look forward to seeing those and getting the first-hand.

These minor league hitters are starting to scorch, so many runs, the only thing that may work for opposing pitchers in Kaopectate.
