4/20/15
Minor League Recap - 4-19-15
Minor League Player of The Night - Steven Matz
Honorable Mention - Michael Conforto
AAA - Las Vegas (6-5) 10 - Fresno (7-4) 5
LF Brandon Allen - 1-3, 1-R, 1-HR (2), 2-RBI, .320
DH Matt Reynolds - 3-5, 1-R, 4-RBI, .348
2B Dilson Herrera - 2-5, 1-R, 2-RBI, .333
Mack - the 21-year old Herrera seems to be settling in very nicely into AAA ball
LHP Steven Matz - 5.0-IP, 3-H, 1-R, 5-K, 3-BB, 2.93
Mack - worked the back end of a piggy with Montero...
RHSP Rafael Montero - 2.2-IP, 2-H, 1-ER, 3-K, 1-BB, 3.38, 50-pitches
Mack - Montero was on a strict 50 pitch count, thus, he was pulled with two outs in the third when he hit 50.
AA - Harrisburg (5-6) 10 - Binghamton (6-5) 2
SS Josh Rodriguez - 3-4, 1-RBI, .357
RHRP Beck Wheeler - 1.1-IP, 0-H, 0-R, 2-K, 1-BB, 4.26
LHRP Dario Alvarez - 1.0-IP, 2-H, 4-R, 3-K, 2-BB, 9.00
Mack - Alvarez has had a very unimpressive 'start' in AA relief ball this spring...
RHSP John Gant - 5.2-IP, 6-H, 3-R, 4-K, 3-BB, 7.71
Mack - So far this young season, Gant has not been successful making the jump from Savannah (2014: 11-5, 2.56) directly to Binghamton. AA baseball is tough enough for pitchers, no less ones that don't throw a single ball at the A+ level.
A+ - Ft. Myers (5-6) 3 - St. Lucie (6-5) 2
RHSP Rob Whelan - 5.0-IP, 3-H, 0-ER, 3-K, 1-BB, 1.64
DH Maikis De La Cruz - 4-5, 1-RBI, .400
Mack - the 24-year old is playing two levels below where he should be...
LF Michael Conforto - 3-5, 1-R, 1-HR (4), 1-RBI, .366
Mack - text from scout to Adam Rubin: "Conforto just hit another bomb. Get him out of this league. The kid has been incredible."
A - Savannah - game was suspended after 6.5 innings due to rain
RHSP Josh Prevost - 5.1-IP, 8-H, 5-R, 7-K, 1-BB, 7.15

With Plawecki and Robles going from AAA to MLB I expect the following ripple effect to happen soon.
Monell to go from AAA-DH to AAA-C.
Travis Taijeron from AAA-RF to AAA-DH.
Darrell Ceccilani from AAA-CF to AAA-RF
Xorge Carrillo from AA-C to AAA-BN.
Brandon Nimmo from AA-CF to AAA-CF.
Jared King from AA-RF to AA-CF
Michael Conforto from A+-RF to AA-RF
Chris, agree with you except Nimmo. Last yr and so far this yr he hasn't dominated AA. Been struggling in Binghamton.
The Vegas Boys are an excellent example of how you can't look at a full season's stats, especially early on. Vegas struggled hitting a bit early early, except for Campbell. They averaged "just" 5 runs a game in the first 8.
Then they score 37 in 3 games, with Herrera and Reynolds, primarily, but others as well exploding.
I bet Reynolds and Herrera are ready, but will have to torch AAA and bide their time.
I love that Conforto nugget, Mack - maybe he is in Queens mid-2016 or sooner.
