Good Morning.  Mets Bullpen struggles continue Braves 11 Mets 10. Happy Birthday George Bamberger and Gregg Jeffries, Marcus Stroman throws a simulated game and the Mets add Franklyn Kilome to the roster.

Mets Links:

Braves 11 Mets 10. Rick Porcello 4 innings, 5 hits, 4 runs, 3 ER, 3 was, 5K, 82 pitches – 48 strikes;  Paul Sewald 1 inning, 2 hits, 1 run, 1 ER; Chasen Shreve, 2 innings, 1 hit, 1 run, 1 BB, 5 Ks; Dellin Betances 1/3 inning, 2 hits, 4 runs, 2 BB, 4 K; Seth Lugo (L 1-1, BS 2) 2/3 inning, 1 hit, 1 BB, 1 K; Robinson Cano 3 for 4 (HR), 1 BB, 2 RBIs, run scored;  Brandon Nimmo 2 for 5, HR, 2 runs scored, 2 Ks; J.D. Davis, 2 for 4 (HR), 3 RBIs, 1 run scored; Andres Gimenez 2 for 4, 1 run scored. (Box Score).

SNY.TV: The Mets and Braves play the second game of their four-game set on Saturday at 7:10 PM on SNY. Michael Wacha (1-0, 1.80 ERA) will face off against fellow righty Touki Toussaint (0-0, 20.25 ERA).

SNY.TV: “Up by four going into the eighth, the Mets handed the ball to Dellin Betances, who had an adventure of an inning. Betances allowed four earned runs in just one-third of an inning, walking two and uncorking a wild pitch. Seth Lugo was then called on to try clean things up with two inherited runners on, but Lugo walked Marcell Ozuna and then allowed a three-run double by Travis d’Arnaud, giving the Braves an 11-10 lead after trailing 8-2 earlier in the game.”

NY Post: Rick Porcello sees progress as his Mets struggles continue. “I made it past the second [inning], so that was a positive,” he said.

Elite Sports NY: New York Mets: Friday’s bullpen implosion isn’t on Luis Rojas. “On Friday night, there’s no way anyone can lay the blame at Rojas’s feet. He made the right calls, but the pitching simply wasn’t good enough. The crushing blow came when the team’s best reliever—and right now, best pitcher not named Jacob deGrom—lost focus in a key spot. Of course, there was plenty that led up to that point, but Seth Lugo‘s blown save was the gut punch that Mets fans have become so used to over the years.”

SNY.TV: Mets' Edwin Diaz attributes Thursday's rough outing to five-day layoff between appearances. Diaz needed 35 pitches to record just one out while walking two and hitting a batter.

MLB Trade Rumors: Latest On Marcus Stroman.  Marcus Stroman got through a four-inning simulated game unscathed on Friday, Tim Healey of Newsday relays. Manager Luis Rojas said Stroman had “a very productive day,” though it remains unclear when the 29-year-old will be able to rejoin the Mets’ rotation.

It’s getting late early. Two of these loses in back to back weekends? So, if each game is magnified in significance by 2.7 then that is 5 loses like this to the Braves. Seems like TDA couldn’t handle NY, so as a SoCal guy should we be worried about PCA?

I would say the only way to get passed last night’s game is to win the series, but can anyone see three wins in a row? Poor Brodie, nothing seems to work like he wants it to, excepts Taneous’ drafts.

Kilome...nice.

Awful baseball. And can we have d'Arnaud back?
