In my opinion, I don’t think Brodie Van Wagenen will make a big splash before next Monday’s trade deadline. He expected a quieter deadline around MLB especially for his team. Some of the media was not impressed with Brodie’s trades last year due to trading away many prospects especially in the Edwin Diaz trade. All of the team’s figure to be very cautious due to the uncertainty of the season.
Speaking
of uncertainty, before the season started there were concerns that the teams
would not get through the whole sixty game schedule. Also, they were worried
that players would catch the virus during the season, which had occurred already
with the two positive tests from the Mets the other day. MLB figured you have
to take the correct precautionary measures to assure the safety of everyone. They
chose the right decision to play without the crowds. It is better to be safe than sorry.
Brodie
is going to be careful as he approaches the trade deadline and you have to be
responsible for the future of the team and not make a trade for the sake of making
one, however the aggressive approach he has taken in the past is a possibility.
You still have to pounce on opportunity if you have a chance to improve the
club if you’re facing an offer you can’t refuse. He doesn’t think a short-term
rental would bring much of a haul, because of this broken season.
I
would like to see a trade occur between both the Yankees and the Mets. The
topic is probably discussed mostly everywhere such as during lunchtime. You
would think that both teams would make a trade with each other since they both
have what the other team needs. The Mets have the starting pitching, which is
what the Yankees need and the Yankees have the position players the Mets can
use. This is a time that both teams can really help each other.
From
now on hopefully the two New York teams will cast aside any envy they may have
for each other and do more business. That would really make the NY fans
excited. Before the season started both teams had positive expectations. Perhaps
the two teams can help each other to the full extent which possibly can lead to
a meeting in a subway World Series between both New York teams.

I don't see this scenario. The Mets have neither an excess of starting pitching, nor a need for a position player. With an IF of Pete, Cano, Amed and JDD, and an OF of McNeil, Nimmo and 4to, where is the hole that needs filling? If Pete is injured, there's Smith, who deserves more ABs. In the Middle IF, the "G-men" can fill in easily without skipping a beat, and in the OF we have Smith, Hamilton and Marisnick.
But in the rotation, there are holes, which is why I would trade Amed if a good SP is available. After Jake and Peterson, and maybe Porcello, we have a lot of????

Get a new owner and let him deal with this team in the free agent market.
Only trade I'd make this week is Amed for an SP who is signedsigned for 2 more years. And Id extend Stro and Thor while they are still available at reasonable cost.
Bill, as long as the pitcher is solid, I’d trade Rosario for an SP under team control.
I've seen reports that Lindor will be a FA this Winter but too expensive for the Indians to re-sign. Maybe a 3-team combo with the Indians getting Rosario and trading Lindor would work.
I don't know much about Clevinger, but his stats are good and he's not a FA until '23. He's in their doghouse now because he violated Covid protocol. Could he be available for Amad?

As I said, I don't know anything about him other than his stats and the recent incident, but if he's that toxic I wouldn't want him.
OTOH, if he's at all redeemable, our very non-toxic clubhouse might do the trick. And the Indians are in no position to reject any reasonable offer.
What has he done prior to the current situation to earn that scathing criticism from you?
He fits in better for the Dallas Cowboys
I don't think Stroman will resign with the Mets, he will test free agency.
