Happy New Year.

May it be far happier for Mets fans this October, and May we have a Canyon of Heroes parade without social distancing

Gus article had some excellent suggestions for Mets players in 2021.

I have often made the Jake point Gus makes.....throw less pitches, stay in games longer. Like my Mom used to say, you want it done right, do it yourself. Pitching just 6.2 innings per start is NOT doing it right.

Let's hope Tom.

Anon - I agree, really enjoyed Gus' post. Agreed on what he said about Pete as well. As far as deGrom, when players are fouling off his pitches throughout the game - it seems he does not have his best stuff. He tends to throw more pitches in those games.

Happy New Year from me as well.

John and Anon, thanks for the love on the article. Tried to do a little digging and was surprised at the two stats y’all mentioned. Thought Alonso’s barreling would lead to more frozen ropes and John, my buddy - to whom I read the article before sending it - also pointed out the foul balls off DeGrom. Two schools of thought: 1. Verlander and Scherzer are never giving in and seem to go deep into games 2. Blake Snell won 22 games going 5.2 innings per start - with a better bullpen - but then his luck got used up and didn’t enjoy that success again. JDG has some cheap wins owed to him.
