No games played yesterday in Puerto Rico and Venezuela yesterday.  The playoffs get underway today in Venezuela.

In the Dominican Republic:

Gigantes del Cibao 6 Aguilas Cibaenas 2 (Box Score). Robel Garcia 2B 1 for 4, 2 Ks; Juan Lagares CF 2 for 4 with a double, run scored, and an RBI. Former Met Dario Alvarez 1.1 innings pitched, no runs, no hits, no walks, 2 Ks.

In the Mexican Pacific League the Semifinals got under way

One of possible interest to Mets Fans: Tomateros de Culiacan 10 Yaquis de Obregon 7 (Box Score). Sebastian Elizalde who the Mets signed as a Minor League free agent last year and who had 11 HRs and 45 RBIS in 46 regular season games this winter continued to hit well going 2 for 4 with a HR, 2 RBIs, 2 runs scored, and a K.  Also Ex-Met Carlos Torres 2/3rd inning, no runs, no hits. 

In Australia, still no more games currently scheduled for the Sydney Blue Sox due to COVID -19 Travel restrictions in that country.  The team features 4 minor league Mets, Carlos Cortes, Manny Rodriquez, Andrew Mitchell, and Adam Oller.  The regular was set to end next week.

Ryan Church and the Pirates come to terms on a $1.5 million, one-year deal. The 31 year-old left-handed hitting outfielder, who batted .273 with the Mets and Braves in an injury-plagued season last year, is expected to be the Bucs' fourth outfielder, backing up Brandon Moss, Andrew McCutchen, and Lastings Milledge.

I think those McNeil projections are doable.

Baseball opening spring training and opening day on time? Sounds crazy to me not to delay it a month. Give herd immunity and vaccines one more month to slow this virus bull down.

Tom - I think the Mets need more good things. Payroll will now be tight. With only $25M or so to go until they hit the cap they need at the very least a CF, solid Lefty Relief Pitcher, and another starting pitcher. Hope they figure out a way to do it. At least they got a starting pitcher back in Carrasco as part of the Lindor trade.
