Cole Wagner is a 2021 1B/LHP with a 6-1 210 lb. frame from Lewisberry, PA who attends Red Land. Big and strong young build. Left handed hitter, hits from a straight stance with a high hand load, some drift into contact, loose and easy swing with good separation out front, long and strong, can impact the ball and turn on his pitch with carry to the right centerfield gap, big power potential. 6.87 runner in the sixty, has very good agility around the first base bag and has soft hands picking the ball, makes accurate throws.

6-foot, 190-pound Georgia commit. Commanded four pitches with easy, balanced delivery from a high 3/4 arm slot. Sat 84-85 while topping at 87 mph in 1.1 innings of work. Showed advanced feel for an excellent changeup at 77-79 that was consistently commanded down in the zone. Also flashed a curveball with average depth at 70-71 and a slider with later, shorter break at 78-80.
Buzz: The Wagners are no strangers to MLB attention. Luke Wagner likely would have been selected in 2020 had the draft been longer and his commitment to Georgia not have been so strong, and Luke’s father, Kyle, was also drafted three times — once out of high school in 1991 and twice out of college in 1994 and 1995. Luke’s cousin Cole has already joined the mix of MLB talk. Cole, a left-handed pitcher and first baseman, is an exciting two-way prospect who hits the upper-80s with his fastball and is a power/speed threat with a great eye at the plate.
Cole has been talked about as possibly continuing to Georgia as both a pitcher and first baseman, but with both Perfect Game and Prep Baseball Report including him within the top 100 high-school players in the nation, he seems likely to be an early draft pick in the class.
