As with each of the last 50 years, every new year brings new hope to all Mets fans!

I apologize
for my absence from the blog, and I hope you’re all sharing the hope that the
deadlock will end, spring training will begin in 40 days, and the Mets will finally
convert the promise of the spring into a deep playoff run. With holiday music still stuck in my head,
here’s my message of hope, sung to the tune of, “Joy to the World!”
Joy to the Mets,
Scherzer has come!
Let fans
respect his game.
Let every
New Yorker prepare him room,
And Ron and Gary
sing,
And Ron and
Gary sing,
And Ron, and
Gary, and even Keith sing.
Joy to the
world, Showalter reigns!
Let Mets his
tasks employ;
On field and
at the plate, in clutch games getting late,
Repeat astounding
plays,
repeat
astounding plays,
repeat,
repeat, astounding plays!
No more let
L’s and sorrows grow
Nor rumors
infest the press;
Steve comes
to make the titles flow,
He spends on
victory,
He spends on
victory,
He spends,
he spends, on victory!
Pete rules
the plate with Power and might,
And makes
opponents rue
The glories
of his mighty swings,
Wonders of
Lindor’s glove,
Wonders of
Lindor’s glove,
And wonders, wonders, of Lindor’s glove.

Very nice.
Easy to dance to
I give it a 10.
P
Paul like it. I can picture Mack dancing to it, no doubt.
One suggestion:
For the opening Scherzer stanza, instead of:
Let fans respect his game.
I like:
May loads of wins come soon.
