Winter Ball Update - Cano in Caribbean Series Starts today

 


The 2022 Caribbean Series gets underway today.  There will be three games a day for the next 5 days with the Semi-Finals next Wednesday and the Championship game next Thursday.  You can follow the scoreboard at ESPN.com and watch the games on ESPN Desportes starting at 9AM eastern today.  Here is the full schedule:


  

Here is a quick look at the Mets related players that will participate.

Dominican Republic:

The big Mets related news was that Robinson Cano was added to the Dominican Republic roster after his team lost to the Gigantes del Cibao.  He's joining former Binghamton Rumble Pony Gustavo Nunez, and Ex-Mets Jenrry Mejia, Gabriel YnoaRaul Valdes and Jordany ValdespinMarcell Ozuna is also on the squad.


Puerto Rico:

T.J. Rivera was added to the Championship Team that already included Johneshwy Fargas and Juan Centeno


Venezuela:

The Champion, Navegantes del Magallanes, added 10 players to the team that already included Alejandro De Aza. None were Mets related players.  The biggest name on the team is Pablo Sandoval.


Mexico:

No Mets related players.


Panama:

2021 Syracuse Met and Binghamton Rumble Pony Catcher David Rodriquez and 2021 Brooklyn Cyclone and Binghamton Rumble Pony Edgardo Fermin.


Columbia:

Ex-Met Dilson Herrera.

Interesting on Cano… Surely he knows people that have influence, because a kid with this numbers isn’t getting added. Let’s you know that he still wields influence in DR. Kind of forces the Mets to keep him in order to maybe get a favor in return out of it.
