The Mets had 11 hits and three home runs as they
defeated the Fort Myers Miracle 6-3 on Saturday at Tradition Field.
Charley Thurber, Jayce Boyd, and Dustin Lawley all had solo home runs
in the win. Boyd, Kevin Plawecki, and
Gilbert Gomez each finished with two hits apiece.
Thurber’s go-ahead home run in the third gave the Mets a 3-2 lead.
Boyd’s solo homer to left extended the lead to 4-2 in the third.
Alex Panteliodis pitched five innings and gave up three runs and seven
hits while issuing three walks and striking out one for his third win.
Randy Fonatnez retired all six batters he faced in relief.
Tim Byrdak retired the side in
order in the eighth while Hamilton Bennett pitched a scoreless ninth for his
