Cesar Puello Named June Player of the Month
Signed by the New York Mets as a non-drafted free agent in July 2007, Puello is in his first season with the Binghamton Mets. He, along with four teammates, will represent the B-Mets at this year’s Eastern League All-Star Game.
Puello racked up 11 multiple-hit games during the month and compiled an .897 slugging percentage, the highest in the league by 167 percentage points. Thanks to his efforts, the B-Mets went 19-5 in the month, their best record in June in franchise history.
Puello and the B-Mets (53-32) conclude their five-game series against the Fisher Cats on Monday afternoon at 12:05 PM. LHP Darin Gorski makes the start against LHP Sean Nolin. The Horizon Federal Credit Union Pregame Show on ESPN 1360 WYOS begins at 11:50 AM.
