7/8/13
Sunday July 7th -- Mets 2, Brewers 1
Sunday afternoon in Milwaukee, Jeremy Hefner
continued his renaissance as he was more impressive than ever as the
Mets beat the Brewers 2-1. Hef was amazing only allowing 2 hits through
7 innings of work. One of those hits was a solo homerun by Jonathan
Lucroy (#10) in that 7th. He went 7 allowed the 2 hits 1 run he walked 1
and struck out a career high tying 8. Offensively the Mets are still
riding the hot bat of Josh Satin. After sitting out the past two games
Satin continued where he left off when
Ike Davis was recalled going 3 for 4 on the day with 2 doubles and an
rbi. All-Star David Wright added two hits, Marlon Byrd and EY Jr. each
added 2 hits as the Mets scattered 11 hits. Hefner gets the win he’s
now 4-6…his era drops to a very impressive 3.39! Josh Edgin got the 1st
two outs of the 8th and All-star snub Bobby Parnell pitched a 4 out
save # 15. With the win the Mets take two of three from the Brew Crew
and now stand at 37-48 (20-21 on the road). Overnight the Mets fly to
San Francisco to start a 3 game set with the struggling Giants. The
Mets other all-star Matt Harvey (7-2 2.27) coming off his worst start
of the year starts for the Mets looking for win #8. Tim Lincecum (4-9
4.66) goes for SF. https://www.facebook.com/MetsForum
