Not to burst the bubble on being buyers. The Mets are still in the bottom 7 of all 30 MLB teams. They do need to be buyers to restore the fan base. They also need to be smart and not make trades that will only help us short term. They need to add players that can help now and will help for the next 3 or 4 years.
The Mets will not make the playoffs this year. What I am hoping for is a winning 2nd half. Adding a couple of exciting young players like Joc Pederson would be nice.

There is not a position player on the team on whom I would not listen to offers. None would be forthcoming on Granderson or Wright due to their contracts, of course. You can't trade Lagares due to his injury. The rest are up for grabs (not that anyone would want most of the rest except Murphy).

You'll get nibbles on Dice-K and Abreu. Both should bring some prospect that will be ready in the year 3012.

There will be teams asking about Niese, deGrom, and Murphy. I just don't see the Mets leaving themselves without a LHSP... Steven Matz learned quickly that he's got a way to go.

deGrom and Murphy could re-define this team. They don't need SPs (Harvey, Wheeler, Niese, Gee, Thor, Colon) in 2016, but trading those two could secure then one top prospect for deGrom and two for Murphy... you could end the speculation on who is going to play 2B, SS, and LF for this team in 2015
