Kingsport Fails To Jumpstart Offense, Lose to the 'Jays 7-2 In Game 2 of the 3 Game Series
KINGSPORT, TENN
Brandon Brosher continued his home run hot streak by blasting his 4th home run in the last 3 games. His offensive power was not enough tonight as Kingsport left 10 men on base and went 0-6 with RISP. The remaining six hits were lone singles.
Andrew Church made his Kingsport debut tonight, but didn't have the right stuff. He went 4 innings, gave up 4ER and 10 hits.
RP Ruben Reyes also had a tough outing going 2.2 innings. He only gave up one hit, but was tagged for 3 runs including a 2-run homer.
Bluefield's pitching staff was top-notch tonight. 13 of 27 K-Mets' outs were by the way of a strikeout.
Mathieu, Wilson, and Ortega went a combined 0/10.
Kingsport (2-3) tries to win the series against Bluefield (2-3) in the rubber game Tuesday night.
WORTH NOTING: Brandon Brosher was selected the Appy Offensive Player of the Week for week ending June 22. Kingsport hits the road for 6 games after the series concludes Tuesday night. There is a 3-way tie for 1st in the West Division. Kingsport is in 2nd place 1 game behind the top leaders.
