Kingsport Breaks Out The Big Bats Again - Defeat Bluefield 5-2 For Their 2nd Consecutive Win
KINGSPORT, TENN
The K-Mets (2-2) moved to the .500 mark for the first time this young season thanks to the bats of DH Brandon Brosher, CF Ivan Wilson and LF Oswald Caraballo. Brosher launched another home run, his 3rd of the season, and Wilson blasted a solo shot for his 2nd. Kingsport has had a home run in each of its first four games. LF Oswald Caraballo went 2/4 with 2 doubles and upped his average to .444.
Wuilmer Becerra didn't go unnoticed. He went 2/3 having a single and a double on the night.
SS Guillorme and 3B Eudor Garcia struggled at the plate going a combined 0/8.
Kingsport got a solid pitching performance from SP Yoryi Nuez. Nuez went 5.1 inning and only allowed 1 ER on 1 hit. He walked 2 and struck out 4.
RP Missigman went 2.2 innings, but had to be pulled in the 9th after loading the bases. Ismael Tijerina came in and got Bluefield (1-3) to ground into a double play and a 5-3 ground out to end the game.
Kingsport's defense shined again tonight holding Bluefield 1 for 13 with RISP.
The K-Mets go for their 3rd straight win Monday night. First pitch is slated for 7pm.
WORTH NOTING: Kingsport posted a (5-1) record vs Bluefield last season. Tonight's win marked the 4th consecutive victory against the Blue Jays. Kingsport has upped its team batting average 84 points in the last two games - now a .248 average. Kingsport is currently leading the league in home runs hit and SLG %.
