Tejada does have a .353 OBP but in what universe do you bat two practical automatic outs at the top of the line-up???!!!
Meanwhile buried at 7th and 8th are Lagares with his .291 avg. and .750 OPS and the white-hot hitting (when called up from Vegas) d'Arnaud where I'm sure he'll see great pitches to hit batting in front of Colon.
Isn't the idea to get your best or potentially best hitters the most ABs in the game??
It's not the players but the manager makes this team so hard to believe in or root for.

I take it that Wright and Recker are unavailable?....already dealing with no backup Middle Infielder---EY starting....

We old Die Hard Fans will never leave---but how the heck are they making any new, young fans. This is such an abuse and wasting of a leading franchise.
There should never have been a question regarding whether or not d'Arnaud or Flores started this season. Yes, d'A has had some injuries but he deserved... no, he earned the chance to iron out his hitting problems (like Grandy) at the MLB level.
I've since softened my stance on him (as I will write about tomorrow) but they both have been screwed this year
I'm OK with EY playing...getting on, and he is a catalyst when he does. Tejada 2nd is dumb. No Chris Young please. Bring Wilmer back.
In what universe is a .353 OBP an "automatic out"? Since May 20 (28 games), Ruben's BA/OBP has risen over 50 points (from .183/.299 to .234/.353), and in those 28 games he's reached base on a hit or walk in 25. "Automatic out"? Hardly!
Also, after CG has had success batting 1st, but has a terrible avg w/ men in scoring position the dopey mgr has him bat clean up so that he can break up the only 3 guys on the team consistently hitting the ball hard (Murphy, Duda & Campbell). How does this make any sense?
Collins is and will always be an imbecile with no common sense. He is bad for this team in so many levels that you have to wonder if winning is really what they want. How many players have come up from Vegas totally hot only to sit so that Collins can play EY, CY or Tejada?
Lagares gets hurt, comes back and is now part of an OF platoon.
Flores time in the majors completely wasted by Collins because he needed to play Tejada even after Flores showed what he was capable of by driving in 6 runs.
Continues to use d'Arnaud in the wrong spots in the lineup which is what caused the problem to begin with.
Lagares was doing great as a leadoff hitter so Collins the imbecile bats him near the bottom of the lineup.
Duda has done great on the 4th slot, so he bats Granderson there who is not hitting well with risp.
Different lineup on a daily basis because...well just because since there is no logic to it.
Is not bad enough that we have owners who are broke but we have to have a GM Trifecta that are legends in their own minds and a total imbecile in the dugout.
Another two hits (and a 9th-inning RBI) for the"automatic out" today.He now has an 8-game hitting streak and has reached base in 26 of his last 29 games.
AWFUL. Just AWFUL. Gotta dump him.
