No one knows what goes on when the spotlights are turned off, but apparently being so manic on stage must have carried over into his private life, too. It sounds silly, but somehow his total presence in anything he did made him seem somewhat invincible, so it came as a tremendous shock and the news dominated not just my thoughts but apparently those of a great many of us. He will be missed.

I'm manic (bi-polar) and fight these demons every day - 30 yrs sober from both alcohol and coke... and it's still a day by day experience.

I've lost 2 to suicide this year... just too hard to keep it up

When it gets tough for me, I go hug my grandchildren and play with their chocolate lab who thinks Im a giant of a man.

Goodbye Robin.

You were a good friend to my city.

Lots of comedians have hidden demons. Very sad, man.

I've tried a little stand up..."tried" is one operative word, and "little" is the next one...when it clicks, though, it can be exhilarating. I can understand how there could be extremes with doing it a lot, especially with someone of Robin's genius. And the fishbowl he had to live in.

Mack brings a lot of joy to folks with his dedication and insights. I'm one of them. I'm sure it is evident with you, Mack, with baseball and beyond it. Very appreciated. Good man. Thanks.
