Tuesday night in Flushing, Juan Lagares blasted a 2 run
homer and Dillon Gee pitched 6 2/3 strong innings, the Mets beat the Braves
3-2. The Mets took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 2nd on a RBI
single by Ruben Tejada. In the 4th
Justin Upton hit an RBI double to tie the game at 1. Then in the 4th
Lagares hit the 2 run shot his 4th on the year go give the Mets a
3-1 lead. Tommy La Stella hit an RBI
double to make it 3-2 in the 7th and chased Gee. Jeurys Familia came
in and finished the 7th and 8th innings. Jenrry Mejia
pitched the 9th for this 19th save. Gee went 6 2/3 allowing 6 hits 2 runs (both
earned) he walked 2 and struck out 1. He gets the win improving to 5-6 on the
year. Alex Wood takes the loss falling to 9-10.
Offensively Lagares and Travis d’Arnaud let the way with 2 hits apiece. Lagares
has now homered in 2 of his last 3 games. The Mets improve to 62-70 on the year and 31-32 at home. Wednesday night is game two of the series.

Mets, Julio Terheran (12-9 2.96) goes
for Atlanta.
