WAIVED - C - Juan Centeno
Outfielder Andrew Brown and catcher Juan Centeno have been lost by the
Mets after they were placed on waivers for the purpose of removing them from the 40-man roster.
Brown was claimed by the Oakland Athletics. Centeno was claimed by the Milwaukee Brewers.
The Mets also removed Scott Rice, Josh Satin, Buddy Carlyle and Dana Eveland. Those four, although technically outrighted to Triple-A Las Vegas, will become free agents.

WOW. I am surprised Centeno was let go, and not at all surprised he got nabbed. Surprised they could not have traded him.
Be interesting to see what happens to Carlyle and Eveland. Tough business for the fringe guys. Both did well this year.
I'd have rather have had Centeno than Recker whose occasional home runs did not offset his below-Mendoza-line hitting.
Can we find a list somewhere of who other clubs are attempting to waive right now so that we can overanalyze who the Mets should claim in return?

I'll have a list of some of them up on Sunday
