Cost control + cost certainty is worth absolute gold for a team that is on the rise and has a large number of young players who are not yet arbitration eligible. Once the Mets traded den Dekker away, there really isn't anyone else who can challenge Lagares at the position. I look forward to seeing Conforto and Nimmo flanking Lagares in the future.)
