Mets Minor League Games - 5-17-15

Minor league bats took the night off.
Minor League Player of The Night - Seth Lugo

Lugo has been sensational this year so far.  Seems like he could be future major league starter caliber.

Honorable Mention - Akeel Morris

Unless my math is screwed up, that is a mind-boggling 34 outs in a row without Morris surrendering a hit. Other than Johnny Vander Meer, who does that?

AAA - Las Vegas - (25-13) 0 -  Tacoma (16-22) 4

    RHSP Matt Bowman -  6.0-IP, 8-H, 2-R, 0-K, 2-BB, 7.22

   RF Travis Taijeron 1-4, 3Ks, .340

Bowman's first decent start in a while.

AA - New Hampshire (18-19) 5  -  Binghamton (21-16) 0

    RHSP Seth Lugo -  7.0-IP, 4-H, 0-R, 4-K, 1-BB, 1.93

    DH Jayce Boyd -  2-4, double, .298

    2B Jairo Perez -  2-3, .361

Jairo is a hit-producing machine. He hit .364 last year.

A+ - St. Lucie (16-21) 4 - Charlotte (25-12) 0

    RHSP Kevin McGowan -  6.0-IP, 2-H, 0-R, 2-K, 3-BB, 5.34

    LF Michael Conforto  -  2-3, 2-doubles, BB, .280

    RHRP Akeel Morris -  2.0-IP, 0-H, 0-R, 2-K, 0-BB, 2.00

Akeel's commandment is "thou shalt not hit."

A - Lexington (16-20) 3  -  Savannah (13-22) 1

    RHSP Matires Arias -   7.0-IP, 4-H, 2-R, 6-K, 0-BB, 2.87

    LHRP Ben Griset -  1.0-IP, 1-H, 0-R, 0-K, 1-BB, 2.25

    DH Eudor Garcia -   2-3, 1-R, 1-HR (1), 1-RBI, .298

Martirez Arias is pitching very well for the Gnats.  Eudor is displaying a promising bat.
GOAT: THE HITTERS.  Just 5 runs in 4 games.

I would like to see Akeel promoted - to AAA. While gee, parnell and black gave up 9 hits in 6 A ball rehab innings, Akeel has allowed no hits in his last 11 1/3.

A ballers are hitting .100 against him in 2014 and 2015. In those 75 innings, 116 Ks. He's making mince meat out of them.

Seems to me he could handle far more challenging assignments, like AAA.
