Mets Minor League Games - 5-25-15

Lost 2 of 3, with the St Lucie Mets chilling on Memorial Day.

Minor League Player of The Night - Duane Below

Honorable Mention - Matt Reynolds

AAA - Las Vegas - (28-17) 9- Col Springs (16-27) 2

    RHSP Duane Below - 9 IP, 7 H, 1 ER, 0.BB, 2 K

    SS Matt Reynolds - 3-5, 2 doubles, .286

     C Johnny Monell - 2-3, 2B, 4 RBI, .410

Duane Below brilliant for the 2nd straight start, last time taking a 2 hit shutout into the 9th and finishing with a complete game shutout.

Reynolds' bat finally awakens after his first slump in 2 years. And Monell is the latest to use upxall his hits before his audition in the big show.  Puzzling, to say the least.

The 51s were happy to be back hitting in Vegas after a sweep at the hads of OKC in OKC.

AA -  Akron (20-24) 6  - Binghamton (24-20) 1

    RHSP Rainy Lara - 6.0-IP, 8-H, 4-R, 7-K, 0-BB, 3.57

    RHRP Vic Black -  1.0-IP, 0-H, 0-R, 1-K, 0-BB, 0.00

Mack - Black seems to be successfully competing his rehab assignments and we can probably expect him back on the 25-man squad before the month of May is over

    2B Jairo Perez -  2-4, 1-RBI, .348

Jairo is a hitting machine but made one of 3 Bingo errors last nite. Julian Hilario's bad relief outing put it out of reach, but the B Mets weren't hitting, so just a bad game overall.

Gavin Cecchini with error # 11.

A+ - St. Lucie - no games scheduled

A - Asheville (19-25) 5  - Savannah (19-25) 3

    RHSP Corey Oswalt -  6.1-IP, 11-H, 4-R, 5-K, 1-BB, 4.23

    3B Eudor Garcia -  2-4, 1-R, triple, 2-RBI, .321

   SS Luis Guillorme -  2-5, .324

Corey Oswalt has given up a lot of hits this year, not a good sign at a level where you want to see the opposite from your starter prospects.

Luis G has been super-consistent, and had about 16 multi-hit games this year. Only one for extra bases so far.

Eudor Garcia continues to hit very well.  Vinnie the Loop Lupo had his 2nd straight multi-hit game and is suddenly up to .184.  Will he repeat his surge of 2014?

GOATS? The B Mets, for a poor overall game.
