Mets Minor League Games - 5-27-15

If you weren't playing in Georgia, it was a bad night.

Minor League Player of The Night - Casey Meisner with another stellar start.

Honorable Mention - Jon/Jean night iin Savannah, with Jonathan Johnson and Jean Rodriguez both collecting 3 hits. Heck, let's add in surging Dominic Smiith, with a single, double, and 2 RBIs.

AAA - Colorado Springs -  (17-28) 11 - Las Vegas (29-18) 1

    RHSP Tyler Pill - 4.0-IP, 12-H, 7-R, 2-K, 1-BB, 7.04

    1B-LF Brandon Allen -  2-3, .305

Allen has quietly climbed above .300, as Travis Taijeron strikes out both ABs, slipping to .322.

Tyler Pill kept Vegas in the game until the first opposng battter stepped into the batter's box.  2015 has been unkind to Pill.  Scott Rice and Chase Bradford also gave up 3 runs and a bunch of hits. Add in 3 Vegas errors - ugly.

AA - Portland (21-26) 3  -  Binghamton  (24-22) 2

    RHSP Dillon Gee - 6.1-IP, 5-H, 3-R, 4-K, 2-BB, 2.84

Mack - This is supposedly Gee's last rehab assignment before returning to the Mets 25-man squad and return to the team for the Miami series. Will rejoin the rotation in the San Diego series.

    RHRP Paul Sewald - 1.0-IP, 0-H, 0-R, 0-K, 0-BB, 1.59

    RF Eudy Pina -  1-2, 1-R, double, 1-RBI, .322

Pina is quietly hitting very well for the AA affiliate.  Boyd walked twice but his hit streak ends.  One Dillon Gee run was unearned.  Sewald almost always excellent. Last nite too.

A+ - Lakeland (22-23) 4  -  St. Lucie  (22-24) 1

    RHSP Logan Taylor -  6.0-IP, 5-H, 4-R, 2-K, 4-BB, 5.79

    C Travis d'Arnaud -   0-3, .000

Mack - this is the first rehab game for d'Arnaud, who is expected to play a few here and then move on to Binghamton for a few more, before returning to Queens and the 25-man roster

    1B Dominic Smith  -  2-3, double, .244

Smith has raised his average 100 points in a very short period of time.

A - Savannah (21-25) 7  -  Asheville (19-27) 2

    RHSP Casey Meisner -  7.0-IP, 4-H, 2-R, 5-K, 2-BB, 2.02

    2B Jean Rodriguez -  3-3, 2-R,  1-HR (2), 2-RBI, .285

    DH Jonathan Johnson  -  3-4, 2-R, double, 1-RBI, .333

Casey's 2.02 ERA shows it has been a scintillating season for him so far.  After a miserable start, Savannah has been winning more than the other 3 affiliates the past few weeks. The addition of Johnson and Eudor Garcia has sparked the Gnats' offense.

GOAT: Las Vegas, led by Pill, to a 10 run margin of loss.
