SUSPENDED PLAY: Friday night’s action was halted in the bottom of the fourth inning, in a 0-0 game. The teams will resume and play the nine inning game to completion, before following with a seven-inning contest.
LAST GAME: The B-Mets shut out Bowie, 6-0, Thursday night at Prince George’s Stadium to take two of three from the Baysox. Luis Cessa earned the win, throwing the first six innings and working around three hits. Beck Wheeler and Paul Sewald combined to close out the shutout. Brock Peterson drove in two more runs for the B-Mets, notching two more hits.Josh Rodriguez and Aderlin Rodriguez each homered in the win.
BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Robert Gsellman is making his third start with Binghamton and the first of his career against New Britain. He’s coming off two losses, allowing two runs in six innings against Reading in his last start. Lefties are 7-for-15 against the righty so far. Gsellman was drafted by the Mets in the 13th round of the 2011 draft.
NEW BRITAIN STARTER: RHP Bryan Evans is making his fifth start with New Britain and the first of his career against the B-Mets. He began the season with the Lancaster Barnstormers before being singed by the Rockies. He has registered a decision in all four New Britain starts, including a win in his last trip to the mound. He allowed one run in six innings against Harrisburg, while striking out nine. He has 21 strikeouts in his last 12 innings pitched. Lefties are batting .135 against Evans.
VS. NEW BRITAIN: These two teams split the season series in 2014, with each side winning nine times. The B-Mets went 7-5 at home, winning the first four. Binghamton last loss the season series in 2012. This is the latest in a season the two teams are playing each other for the first time since 2006, when they first squared off on June 13, also at NYSEG Stadium.
SERIES WIN: Binghamton took two of three against Bowie to win their first series since May 8-10, when they took two of three from Akron. The B-Mets went 0-6-2 in their eight series in-between.
BACK-TO-BACK: A win would give Binghamton their first back-to-back wins since May 22-23 against Akron. The B-Mets have played 17 games since.
X DOES NOT MARK THE SPOT: Xorge Carrillo has five errors and five passed balls through his first 40 games behind the plate this season. He committed four errors and five passed balls all of 2014, in 62 games behind the plate.
FIRST IMPRESSION: Michael Conforto has reached base in all 11 games played with the B-Mets, recording a base hit in nine of them. He has drawn 11 walks through his first 11 games, including atleast one in eight. Conforto reached base in his first 12 games with Brooklyn (SS-A) in 2014, and his first four games with St. Lucie (High-A) to begin this season.
NOW WE’RE KOCH-ING: Matt Koch has not allowed a run in his last eight appearances (13 innings), dating back to May 19. Since moving to the bullpen, Koch has allowed one run in 21.2 innings (14 appearances).
WHEELIN & DEALIN: Beck Wheeler has not allowed a run since May 10, making nine scoreless appearances (nine innings) since then. He previously allowed 16 earned runs in his first 16 innings pitched.
AFTER SHUTOUT: The B-Mets are 3-1 in games after throwing a shutout, outscoring opponents 20-11.

Great to see Matt Koch is finding the pen so successful. He may have found his niche.
