Mets Minor League Games - 6-21-15

.
                     Minor League Report 6-21-15

3 for 3 in the winners' column on Fathers Day.

Star of the day: Brooks Conrad

Honorable Mention: Casey Meisner

AAA - Las Vegas (40-31) 4 - Fresno (42-28) 2

Looking very NY Met-like (you know, utter impotence and futility) until the 9th, Vegas wrote a different script for its ending last night.  Lara was shaky, but limited Fresno to 2 runs while pitching (5 IP, 4 H, 5 BB, 2 R). Entering the 9th it was 2-0, Fresno.

But with one out, Kirk (.429) doubled and Recker walked, Allen struck out, so 2 outs,  Taijeron is then HBP.

WAS IT WORTH THE PAIN? YEAH! BROOK CONRAD HIT A COME- FROM- BEHIND 2 OUT GRAND SLAM.

Chase Bradford tossed 2 strong innings to pick up the win, keping Vegas on a roll.

Unlike the putrid Mets, there was excitement in this one.

AA - Binghamton -    posponed due to rain

A+ - St. Lucie -   no game scheduled  -  all-star break

A - Savannah (39-31) 8  - Augusta  (33-36) 5

    RHSP Casey Meisner -  5.0-IP, 3-H, 1-R, 6-K, 1-BB, 2.13

    RF Wuilmer Beccera  -  2-4, 1-R, double, 2-RBI, .289

    LF Joe Tuschak  -  2-5, 1-R, .182

Casey outstanding one again.  A tale of 2 games.  3-2 entering the 9th, 8 more runs leading to the final score.

Another fine Becerra game, and Guillorme on base 3 more times.  Luis has been on base 100 times in 63 games...impressive.  And a sure-handed SS besides.  Nice.

Low-A  -  Brooklyn (2-1) 6 - Staten Island (1-2) 4

    RHSP Michael Gibbons -  5.2-IP, 2-H, 2-R, 6-K, 2-BB, 3.18

    RF Michael Bernal  -  2-4, 2-R, double, triple, 1-RBI, .308

    DH Jeff Diehl  -  2-4, 1-R, 1-HR (1), 2-RBI, .600

Gibbons follows up his inaugural starting gem with St Lucie with an excellent start today.

Nice start to the season for Bernal and Diehl, and for the Cyclones in winning the series from the Yank squad.

Rookie - DSL 1 - no game scheduled

Rookie - DSL 2 - no game scheduled

Becerra hitting .307 with 18 extra base hits in 46 games in May and June. I'd say that warrants a promotion.

Scrubbing MILB Rosters for Eric Manoah and Kurtis Horne... cannot find them on GCL, Kingsport, Savannah, Brookly... are they "unassigned"?
