2. Michael Conforto, lf, Mets
Team: Double-A Binghamton (Eastern). Age: 22.
BB/SO: 0.77. BB: 11.3%. SO: 14.7%. ISO: .203.
Not every team placed Kyle Schwarber atop its list of college bats in the 2014 draft. The Mets, for one, preferred Oregon State’s Conforto and selected him 10th overall. “This was our No. 1 hitter since last spring,” scouting director Tommy Tanous said at the time. Schwarber has achieved more to this point, but Conforto makes more contact, hits for similar power—he led the high Class A Florida State League with a .462 slugging percentage before his promotion—and faces no question about his future position. Like the Cubs, the Mets might be eying their 2014 first-rounder for a summer callup to fuel their surprise run at the playoffs.

Late summer call up for Conforto, perhaps. If he hits in AA for a few more weeks the way he has, which has been awesome, I'd move him to Vegas. Queens Sept 1?

Vegas is pointless. It's too hot to play there in the summer. They have misting machines in the stands. Seriously. And no indoor batting cages. A total waste to send him there. He can jump from AA provided, of course, that he continues to play reasonably well.
Makes sense, James. I have never been to Vegas in the summer, but did to Phoenix. 113 and "dry heat" is like opening the oven door!
That said, that'll likely want him to do some Vegas. Akeel did not make a good case for players skipping levels.
Desmond Lindsay has officially signed for slot money.
Is it correct that Kevin Kaczmarski signed for $5K? ($155K under slot!). Man, this kid wants to play, and I for one am really rooting for him.
Of course that's what Koufax signed for.
@Hobie
That is correct.
To be fair...he is a college senior so he has literally zero negotiation leverage since he can't threaten to go back to school.
