St. Lucie 7 - Jupiter 5

The St. Lucie Mets came from behind to notch their first road win of the season with a 7-5 victory over the Jupiter Hammerheads on Saturday at Roger Dean Stadium.

Luis Guillorme broke a 5-5 tie in the eighth with a single to left field that plated Patrick Biondi, who led off the frame with a walk. Guillorme later scored on a two-out single by Michael Katz.

Mets starter Corey Oswalt allowed five runs over 2.2 innings, but relievers Ben Griset, Corey Taylor and Jimmy Duff combined to toss 6.1 scoreless innings of relief to finish out the game. The trio combined for 8 strikeouts and gave up one hit. Griset and Taylor were making their St. Lucie debuts. Taylor was credited with the win and Duff the save.

The Mets led 4-2 in the third when Jupiter’s Bryan Haynal hit a bases-clearing double with two outs to put the Hammerheads up 5-4. Amed Rosario’s RBI single in the sixth tied the game.

The Mets pounded out 12 hits. Katz led the charge, going 3 for 4 with a walk, RBI and two runs scored.
