There is, I think, an aura of failure in Queens.
In the Bronx, it is the opposite.
An aura of success, an expectation that once you put on the pinstripes, everything is about to get better.
Some examples:
Gio Urshela.
This guy did not hit great in the minors, and hit just .225 in the bigs before the Yanks got him - elsewhere, he hit mid .220s in stints in 2016 and 2017, and .233 in a stint in 2018.
Yanks pick him up, he's hitting .354. Jeff McNeil territory.
Luke Voit? Has 24 homers in 265 Yank at bats (a Ruthian pace) and hitting .291 - we can't even expect Pete Alonso to do that sort of a pace. Before the Yanks? Voit in St Louis: .240.
Cameron Maybin? Hits under .240 combined in 2017 and 2018. Yanks in 2019? .323.
DJ Lemahieu? Inflated career stats due to Coors Light (air), and just a .266 career hitter outside friendly Coors. Yanks get him...hitting .342.
With the Mets, almost every sub they ever get can't hit. Even in World Series year of 2015, I recall that the subs had several hundred at bats and were hititng .180 before the Mets got Kelly Johnson, Juan Uribe, and Yoenis Cespedes.
Other than Alonso and McNeil, all the Mets regulars struggle, too.
Nimmo is hitting .200 - if he were on the Yanks, he'd probably be hitting .300.
Conforto? .248 with 15 RBIs. With the Yanks, he probably be hitting 3 bills with 12 homers and 35 RBIs.
Cano? He'd likely have double the runs scored and driven in, and add 50 points, if he were a Yank.
Heck, with the porch in the Bronx, McNeil might have 8-10 homers already, not just 1.
Yanks get Clint Frazier back - he is hitting .288/.315/.548. The Mets' Frazier? Todd is hitting an un-Toddly .143. His 2 runs scored in 15 games? Both on homers, otherwise, NO RUNS SCORED!
Jose Reyes hit .189 for the Mets in 228 ABs last year - if the Yanks had picked him up this year, rather than washed up, he'd probably be hitting 100 points higher.

What clouds (are) hanging over the Mets?
The Yankees don't have those clouds...despite a slew of major injuries, they trailed the Mets in wins and losses the first few weeks, but donned the "Success Mantle" and are now 6 full games ahead of the Mets.
How does this nearly perennial cloud over the Mets get removed? Will it ever?

I liked and respected Terry, felt he was unfairly and brutally criticized. He took all the bullets that should have been aimed at Alderson.

BVW really put his ass on the line with the Cano trade and I applaud him for it and loved the new changes after the SA error/era but there's a huge downside and we all know the next couple of weeks will tell alot. Now what will the FO do if we repeat last May and June....stay tuned.
So far the response has been shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic, using flawed players who happen to be on the 40-man roster or who have contractual reasons to give them a first look. Let's see some REAL changes.
Broxton still seems to be a Met, I guess for his "intangibles." I prefer tangibles, things called hits. Let's see how the homestead unfolds.
So, um, uh, might we use this line-up again? Or back to Frazier Crane at third tomorrow?

Frazier sits, JD hits...that alone can blow lots of dark clouds away. It will be crowded enough when Lowrie returns imminently...do NOT let Frazier play,except as a PH and D replacement.
