Montgomery has one of the better fastballs in the class with pitch data to back it up, but command and lack of secondary offerings have ultimately thwarted his draft stock. The fastball is a mid 90s offering with ride up in the zone. He's got a curveball that's been used sparingly and lacks punchout potential right now. Montgomery may be a reliever long-term due to the arsenal and command issues, but the fastball may be a 60.
