Observation: If the Mets plan on Thole being a backup catcher, he will go to Queens in 2010. But, if their plans are someday for him to be their primary catcher, he’ll spend 2010, where I predict, in Buffalo. Regarding AA, I guess Pena goes there, though Abruzzo, if his shoulder heals and he can throw, deserves it more. Doyle was a catching prospect who’s been turned into a DH. Zapata looks like the next catching prospect and Moreno shows promise in Venezuela; however, they can’t make up their mind what position he should play, C, 1B, or DH.

On The Way To Queens: None

On The Way Home: Cancel, Nickeas, Allen, Arroyo.

Current 2010 Projection:

AAA: Josh Thole
AA: open
A+: open
A: Nefli Zapata
Low-A: Tyler Howe
K-Port: open
GCL: Nestor Moreno

From the stats pages I see that Michael Moras has not played for Kingsport since July 8. Is he injured?

I show him active, but just not in the lineup lately.

On July 27 The New Haven (CT) Register reported that on July 9 Moras had emergency surgery for appendicitis. He is expected to be out for at least another week.

Per Kingsport Mets stats: Michael played on August 4 against the Bristol Sox. He went 1 for 3. I don't know if he was catching or the DH.
